Well, Niner fans…where are we at? I’m following the offseason news. The draft picks, Brock’s surgery and recovery, Garoppolo’s trade. It’s all shaping up to be an interesting year.
This week the Niners will be holding their rookie minicamp. According to sources, they are bringing in QB Steven Montez, 26 since none of their roster quarterbacks are eligible to participate in the rookie camp this week. (www.49erswebzone.com)
This is of course a small reflection of the larger discussion of the QB position which has been THE ongoing conversation for the past several years.
I can safely say that, like most Niners fans I talk to, we have had a fond yet disdainful relationship with our beloved Jimmy G. that we can now put to rest.
I would have to think Kyle Shanahan & the front office must sleep a little easier knowing they aren’t going to face the same questions again this year regarding the ups and downs of Jimmy G.
It has been a roller coaster for all. I’m glad too to end the discussion, as a fan, of the ups & downs. Are we winning despite Jimmy G., because of Jimmy G. or not winning because of Jimmy G.? Is he our good luck charm or our weakest link? Have we given him too much grace or not enough?
So I’ll end my first post by saying it’s been a great chapter. There is no denying our post season runs over the last 3 years have been awesome. Let’s see where we go from here.
